Pelvic Pain Pilates in 2025

In addition to Pelvic Health Physiotherapy, Siobhan is also a Pilates Instructor, with an abundance of experience teaching Pilates clinically in a rehabilitation setting as well as group Reformer and Matwork Pilates classes, training through STOTT Pilates.

Through clinical experience and frequent reports from her pelvic pain patients, Pilates can sometimes cause a flare up in pain for some people with pelvic pain due to the repetitive abdominal and pelvic floor strengthening and cues for bracing the body. This is a shame as Pilates can be so beneficial for optimising movement patterns, building body awareness, increasing stability, mobility, endurance and strength. So in 2024, Siobhan will be running “pelvic floor safe” reformer pilates classes once a month specific for pelvic pain.

You will learn how to:

  • How to engage AND relax muscles properly
  • Connect with your pelvic floor to teach it how to better relax
  • Reduce excessive bracing patterns
  • Increase strength in your pelvis, hips and lower limb
  • Improve your breathing dynamics
  • Integrate pelvic floor down training into stretches
